The planning perspective

The site.
The strategy.
The route forward.

Valuable land and assets can be held back by planning uncertainty, fragmented advice and an unclear route forward. The planning position, design strategy and technical evidence need to develop together.

STAGE is the masterplanner and project lead, running the project and coordinating the full professional team. One strategy. One team. One point of contact. Explore real client case studies alongside illustrative studies showing how the client decision shapes the evidence, team and route forward.

    Opportunity

Read the potential within the land, the asset and its wider context.

  2. 02

    Complexity

Identify constraints and evidence gaps before they create avoidable delay.

  3. 03

    Strategy

Coordinate design, evidence and the route through consent and implementation.

Selected studies

Planning in context.

Roseworthy, Higher Brynn and Challonsleigh are real client project records, with the planning work and evidence set out in each case study. Other entries are illustrative planning studies.

Atkins proposed site plan for the Roseworthy Compost Facility, showing the processing yard, building, attenuation pond, access and landscape earthworks.
Actual project drawing / Atkins / Proposed Site Plan P11, November 2024

The planning question

Roseworthy recycling facility.

How can an operationally effective recycling facility fit a sloping rural site and address the environmental evidence needed for a credible planning case?

Opportunity

A new facility for open-windrow green-waste composting, separate wood recycling and agricultural-plastics reception and baling.

Outcome

Planning permission granted on 19 December 2025. STAGE led the application and managed the whole project.

Actual project drawing / Atkins / Proposed Site Plan with Aerial P01, November 2023

The planning question

Higher Brynn recycling facility.

How can a working recycling site introduce covered wood processing without losing the yard space, circulation and environmental controls its operation depends on?

Opportunity
